Social Media- PITCH 18- Rizwana

https://twitter.com/Group8_ >> Here is the following link to our Twitter account where in due time we will be posting images of us filming, creating photo shoots and what we are specifically doing during the days of our production. As soon as we begin to film, we will create a suitable header (background), possibly showing our branded artist and elements relating to the pop genre to let our audience know the type of genre we are re-producing.

Twitter Page Currently
As you can see, our Twitter page is created and for the meantime we have chosen to have our header to be a pastel pink colour as it links well with the pop genre and possibly the light colours our artist will be dressed in.

17) Risk Assessment - PITCH - Amy

  1. Risk of tripping over wires and knocking stuff over as we are filming in a bedroom for some scenes. The bedroom will be a little cramped so having members being aware of these hazards is a must.
  2. When we film outdoors, we must be wary of the weather as if it rains the camera will get damaged. In order to avoid this, we will make sure to pack an umbrella out with us when we go to film
  3. Risk of using the equipment unsafely or incorrectly so making sure to take our time to put the camera on the tripod/wheel correctly.
  4. We plan to film in public areas such as a coffee shop and park so we must be certain that permission is received by the correct people. Also, if we do get permission we must be aware to not block people's way so perhaps we shouldn't use the tripod in these areas.
  5. When doing scenes including roads, make sure to look out for cars. Also, it is necessary to have a person looking out for where the actor and camera man is going in case they bump into something as they do not see it.

Animatic Draft - Pitch 15 - Bushra & Rizwana

We did not follow the common method when making music videos where you extend the shots and the base tracks and then cut. Instead we used a linear method. We plan not to use this method when actually make our music video because using the linear method did not allow us o have the cuts where it was necessary. As we are doing a pop song, it is fast paced and has to have a lot of cuts through out. Which is what we plan to do when we are doing the real thing.

We also decided not to follow our original story board on certain shots. For example when Amber goes to his house to try and get him back. Originally we had her spying and then jump in and stop the kiss. However we thought it would be more effective if they had an argument after he returns form his date with the new girlfriend. On the line "I don't care I'll wait all year not gonna move from your front door" She is singing this to him, he then shouts and tells her to go away and that she has blown away her chance. She then walks away and on the line "Because you made me smile..a lot" she turns around and stops the kiss. Therefore in our animatic we used some of our old shots to show their argument scene.

14) Story Board - PITCH - amy and bushra

(13) Industry- Pitch- Bushra

Record label: Syco Records

We have decided for Amber to be signed to Simon Cowel's  record label Syco. This is because our artist is similar to a majority of the artists signed by Simon Cowel.  Pop music is what Syco Entertainment is about therefore it seems like an appropriate choice for Amber.

e.g. Cher Lloyd and Ella Henderson.

Our single will be available to listen to on all platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Youtube and on the artist website. This is allows us to have maximum exposure for our artists single.

Our artist is signed to a major recording label. This allows amber to have the resources to promote herself and her music through touring and recording with major producers

These props will be used for specific parts of the song when it matches the narrative.

12) Post Production - Amy

In total we will have 4 base tracks

  1. In the park walking and sitting on bench
  2. In the coffee shop sitting down
  3. In her bedroom lying on bed
  4. Outside of house
Slow motion will be used when there are shots of all 3 characters in the same shot and Amber is spying on them from behind. It will also be used when the song reaches the climax and Amber sees them kiss.

To do

13) industry = Bushra
14) shot list and instagram account = Amy
16 and 17) production schedule and risk assessment = Rizwana

Thursday = story board and draft ancillary together

8) Synergy - PITCH- Rizwana

7) Costume - PITCH- Bushra

Park-   The park is where majority of our music video is set. Therefore the outfit that we use is a representation of who our artist really is. We have decided for our artist to where a beanie hat in most scenes. This will be her signature item that she will be known for. We also decided for her to wear black shorts and a baseball jersey. This style that we have chosen is a punk/ hipster style.

Starbucks-  The Starbucks scene is the first scene in our music video and the costume of our artist is very important in that scene. She will again be wearing the beanie hat. Along with ripped jeans, a white crop top and a shirt wrapped around her waist. This is a very casual look will match our scene as the couple will just be out on a date in Starbucks. However she will still be maintaining her hipster style.

Bedroom-  The bedroom scene consists of our artist looking back at polaroid picture of good memories. Therefore we have decided for our artist to be dressed in a onesie to show that she is a young heartbroken teenage girl as she will be eating ice-cream as well.

Outside house- In this scene our artist stumbles upon her ex and his new girlfriend about to kiss as she runs and jumps in the middle. She will be wearing a skater skirt along with knee high socks and a jumper maintaining that hipster style.

3) Initial Idea - PITCH - Amy

This video by Cher Lloyd is what inspired us the most. This video follows Andrew Goodwin's theory of illustration and a bit of amplification for the narrative of the girl regretting breaking up with her boyfriend when she sees that he has a new girlfriend. Although our video follows the same narrative, it will be different as the our video uses mostly amplification in order to give a different perspective of the situation. Our music video is essentially a short movie which will ultimately engage the audience as it includes humour and an interesting/relatable story line.

2) Brand Image - PITCH - Amy

Our artist - Amber

Amber will be similar to the artists Cher Lloyd and Carly Rae Jepsen in the sense that she will have similar visuals to them. Their fashion sense is very suitable for Amber as it is very trendy, fun and young which will attract her target audience of teenage girls.

1) Song Choice - PITCH - Amy

The song that we have chosen is by an artist named Tich called 'Dumb' in which there is already an existing music video. The music video mainly follows Andrew Goodwin's theory of illustration. Our video will be different as we will use amplification and have a different concept of showing another perspective to the original video

Initial ideas of narative

Here is what we initially want as to how the narrative of our music video should go with the song lyrics. We printed the lyrics out and annotated around it.

Analysis of Digipak/CD (18)

CD Cover (Single)
Tich's CD cover is shown to be sold as a single of only her song 'Dumb' instead of an album. There is good use of synergy from the CD cover to her music video such as the font of her name and the title of the song, the font from the music video at the start is also shown to be the same as the CD cover

Font is similar to CD cover

The CD cover also presents the image of the artist with the same appearance in the music video. Highlights of Tich's blue hair is shown on the CD cover AND also in the music video, showing good use of synergy & linking.
