Dos:
·
Font:
When it comes to font it is best two have a maximum of two different
fonts. More than two will make the digipak look messy and unprofessional. The font
should be carried out through everything including the CDs.
·
Colours: The colours used are very important. It
is important to stick with no more than three colours. This will give your
ancillary product a theme. The three
colours should compliment each other and not clash.
·
Rule of thirds should be used in your pictures. This
will help create symmetry.
·
Include the following to make it look professional:
barcode, date, copyright, artist website, the artist’s name, the record label.
Don’ts:
· Overuse of effects:
When using photo shop on your images, an overuse
of effects is not good, it will take attention away from what’s important.
·
Cover the artist's face:Keep the writing away from the artists face
otherwise the audience will not be able to see who it is; it will not brand the
artist well.
·
Place your photos where it fits; don’t go
overboard just to fill in blanks.
·
Stretching your photos will lose marks and ruin
the picture.
